Everything Soom does, module by module.

Attendance, leave, payroll, hiring and more, sharing one set of people, approvals and settings. Pick a module to see what it does.

Attendance & shifts

See who is in, late or on leave, from GPS and QR clock-ins and the punches of your own attendance devices.

  • GPS clock-inEvery punch records the time and place, and asks office or work from home unless approved WFH already covers the day.
  • Clock in by QR codeDownload a QR poster for your office, and staff scan it in the app to clock in and out. A scan only counts inside the radius you set on the map, a faked location is refused on Android, and HR and managers see how far from the code each scan was.
  • Rules for each branchSet whether a branch clocks in on the web, in the app or both, and whether the app uses the button, the QR code or either.
  • Your attendance devicesConnect RealTime Biometrics devices. Their punches show on each employee’s attendance day.
  • Shifts and rostersSet up shifts, plan a monthly roster and approve shift-change requests.
  • Night shiftsShifts that cross midnight just work. Hours, lateness and overtime land on the day the shift started.
  • Half days and overtimeHalf-day cutoff, late grace, early-leave tracking and overtime approvals.
  • Corrections with a reasonAttendance fixes go through each employee’s approval chain, level by level, and every request needs a reason.
  • Sign off days for payrollClean days approve themselves every night. The rest wait for HR, sorted by why: late, no clock-out, missing or a correction request. Each is decided as full pay, half a day or no pay until payroll is locked, and any of them can be escalated by email from your own templates, one person at a time or many at once.
  • Work from home and permissionShort time-off requests with their own approval chain, separate from leave.

  • Your own leave typesAccrual, quotas, eligibility and carry-forward rules for each type.
  • Carry-forward you controlPreview what each person carries over and what lapses, then commit. Nothing moves until HR runs it.
  • Year-end encashmentWork out the days above the carry-forward cap, approve them and pay them through payroll.
  • Team leave calendarSee who is away and when, with clashes flagged when someone applies.

Payroll

Indian payroll with PF, ESI, professional tax, the Labour Welfare Fund and TDS worked out for you, and payslips people download themselves.

  • Your own salary componentsBasic, HRA, allowances and bonuses as a fixed amount, a percentage of Basic, CTC or gross, or the balance of CTC, set month by month with what each counts as wages for: PF, ESI or both.
  • Salary structuresBuild reusable structures from your components, set a company default and give each employee one. Changes apply from a month you pick, so payroll already done stays as it was.
  • PF, ESI, PT and TDSStatutory rules built in, with professional tax for the 19 states and UTs that levy it, kept to each revision, the Labour Welfare Fund for all 16 that levy it, and TDS under both tax regimes, worked out on the whole year's pay, including salary from a previous employer. Download the PF ECR and ESI files and each state's professional tax return, get a reminder before each due date and record every payment with its challan number.
  • Salary calculatorEnter a CTC and see the payslip it gives: earnings, PF, ESI, PT, TDS and take-home, worked out from your own settings.
  • Accounting entryEach payroll's journal under your own ledger names, ready to import into Tally or to download as Excel for any accounting software.
  • Changes since last monthBefore you lock a payroll, see who joined or left, whose salary changed and whose take-home moved since last month, with the two payslips side by side, line by line.
  • Loans and salary advancesGive a loan or salary advance with a monthly instalment and, if you like, interest. Payroll takes it back from each salary until it's repaid, keeping deductions within half the pay; people see what's left month by month, and any balance goes into the final settlement.
  • Final settlementSettle someone who has left in one place: pay to the last day, leave encashment, gratuity, notice pay or recovery and anything else, with the last month's TDS. Each one shows the date its wages are due and goes into that month's payroll.
  • Branded payslip PDFsYour logo, address, colour and footer, with a one-click preview.
  • AppraisalsLog a raise today, backdate it, or schedule it for a date when it applies by itself. The full history is kept.
  • Intern to full-timeConvert in one step. The new employee type and the first salary start on the same date, and the internship and its stipend stay on the salary history.
